Chapter 29 - Breathing
Chapter 29 - Breathing
"Teach me something else?"
Mizuki tilted her head and stared blankly at Makomo.
Makomo smiled, her eyes crinkling as she looked at Mizuko's adorable expression.
"Yes, I'm going to teach you the total concentration breathing technique!"
"Total concentration...breathing technique?"
Midouzi was even more puzzled, as this was the first time she had heard of this method.
"Hmm! You have a lot of talent. Let me tell you a secret, you're much stronger than Sabito."
Makomo looked around and whispered to Mizuko.
"Huh? How is that possible! Sabito is amazing, I'm no match for him, he's really strong!"
Mi Douzi waved his hands repeatedly, his face full of disbelief.
Makomo smiled wryly. "Then do you know why you can't beat him?"
Mizuko was taken aback, then looked at Makomo with wide eyes and asked uncertainly.
"You mean, he'll concentrate all his breathing?"
Hearing Mizuko's question, Makomo nodded vigorously.
"Yes, it's all about concentrating your breathing."
Makomo slowly sat up straight and began her own demonstration.
"Ordinary breathing techniques merely guide the flow of breath, while concentrated breathing allows you to inhale the maximum amount of oxygen in every instant, channeling it throughout your limbs. This not only significantly enhances strength and speed but also strengthens the body's recovery capabilities. Sabito was able to suppress you because he mastered this!"
Mizuko watched Makomo's demonstration with bright eyes. Each breath she took was faster and more focused than her usual breathing rhythm.
Using her exceptional senses, Mizuko recorded all of this.
After Makomo's demonstration, she closed her eyes, cleared her mind of all distractions, and focused all her attention on her breathing.
Makomo was also amazed by Nezuko's talent, watching her master Total Concentration Breathing almost instantly.
[What a genius girl! Sabito, can you see this?]
Makomo couldn't help but ask herself.
As Mizuko gradually mastered total concentration breathing, all external sounds were blocked out by her.
I fully immersed myself in concentrated breathing.
She could clearly sense that with each breath, air entered her body and, through the coordination of breathing, passed through her muscles and blood vessels, extending to every part of her body.
This feeling instantly filled her body with a sense of power and lightness.
"Makomo, I did it... I..."
Mizuko excitedly opened her eyes, wanting to tell Makomo the good news.
But when I opened my eyes, I saw the blinding sunlight, and Makomo's shadow was nowhere to be seen.
"It's dawn. I've been cultivating all night?"
Midouzi rubbed her eyes in disbelief. In her opinion, she had only cultivated for about an hour.
But now that it's daytime, my body feels no fatigue thanks to the full concentration of my breathing.
Just as Mizuko was marveling at the wonder of Total Concentration Breathing and Makomo's help, Sabito's voice came from behind her.
"You're this excited just because you've mastered Total Concentration Breathing? You don't actually think you're powerful enough to defeat me or split that boulder in two, do you?"
Upon hearing Sabito's words, Nezuko quickly suppressed her joy, reached out and grasped the Nichirin Blade, then slowly turned around, her expression becoming serious.
"I will definitely defeat you, I will definitely split that boulder, I will definitely become a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, heal my brother, and protect everyone!"
Midouzi's eyes were full of determination, and her expression was exceptionally serious and earnest.
As soon as she finished speaking, she raised her hand and grasped the Nichirin Blade, holding the blade horizontally in front of her. The cold blade reflected Sabito's face, which was wearing a white scarred fox mask.
She focused her breathing, which circulated slowly within her body, and air flowed continuously to her limbs, filling every muscle with power.
After looking at Nizuko, who dared to draw her sword against him, and hearing her words, Sabito...
A hint of approval flickered in his eyes beneath the fox mask, but it quickly vanished as he slowly drew the wooden sword from his waist.
"So you finally dare to lay a hand on me? Hahaha! I accept your challenge! Come, let me see how much stronger you've become after just one night of training."
As Sabito's arrogant words fell, the next second, the white haori, accompanied by splashes of water, took the initiative to attack Mizuko.
"Water Breathing, Fourth Form, Rising Tide!"
Ni Douzi's senses were amplified rapidly, and he immediately took a deep breath.
"Complete Concentration, Water Breathing, Third Form, Flowing Dance!"
As the clear shout fell, Mi Douzi's figure suddenly became agile, weaving through the waves like a winding stream.
The Nichirin Blade and Sabito's wooden sword clashed violently.
"clang--"
Blue waves splashed everywhere, turning the entire forest into a clear, cool blue.
The two figures crisscrossed amidst the waves, each clash of their blades producing a deafening sound.
Sabito's attacks remained fierce and ruthless, yet in each exchange, he clearly sensed the changes in Mizuko.
Her movements were no longer stiff; the force with which she swung her knife was several times more steady, and her breathing was long and continuous, showing no trace of yesterday's disheveled state.
In just one night, this girl's growth was astonishingly rapid.
"Not enough! Still not enough!"
The rabbit's voice pierced through the waves, carrying a frustrated roar, and it swung its wooden sword even faster.
"Your reaction time is too slow! Faster, faster! Your movements are still too stiff, as awkward as a piece of wood!"
His wooden sword grazed past Midouzi's shoulder, disappearing in a flash amidst the spray of waves.
Then he swung back, forcing Ni Douzi to retreat repeatedly.
Forget about those rigid, formulaic moves!
Every swing of the hawk-like rabbit precisely targeted the weakness of the bean.
"Infuse the essence of Water Breathing into your bones and flesh! Let your body react naturally, let the techniques become your instinct, and let them become part of your memory!"
Mi Douzi gritted his teeth, sweat dripping down his forehead, but he did not back down in the slightest.
The power from her concentrated breathing surged through her body as she dodged Sabito's attacks while desperately trying to memorize his words.
The battle raged until late at night, and Midouzi collapsed to his knees, drenched in sweat.
The feeling of exhaustion from focusing all her breathing made Midouzi gasp for air.
The excruciating pain in her lungs made her realize that this excessive breathing also had side effects.
"That's amazing! This is the first time I've ever seen someone fight Sabito for a whole day!"
Makomo appeared in front of Nezuko with her hands behind her back. Looking at Nezuko's weak and exhausted appearance, she expressed her approval.
"But I still couldn't defeat him. Sabito is really strong!"
Nidouzi shook his head and said wearily.
Makomo chuckled. "You know, even Giyu Tomioka couldn't fight Sabito for a whole day when he first started training!"
