Chapter 474 - 377: The Indignation of the Yan Yan Tribe’s Witch (Part 2)
Meanwhile, Wu Yue, obsessed with her pig-raising project, had no idea she was on someone’s mind. She was too busy staring eagerly at the two little piglets in the wooden bucket as they bared their teeth.
"You want to raise pigs in the tribe?"
A deep, magnetic voice, laced with obvious amusement, pulled Wu Yue’s attention away from the piglets.
She turned around and saw Yuan Lang standing behind her, a few Sharp-toothed Fish dangling from his hand.
When he saw her looking, he casually swung the fish. "Let’s eat these tonight."
Remembering the smooth, tender texture of the Sharp-toothed Fish, Wu Yue’s mouth instantly began to water.
She nodded readily. "Of course, no problem."
Yuan Lang had already cleaned the Sharp-toothed Fish, so Wu Yue took them and headed for the kitchen.
"These two piglets obviously aren’t enough. When you guys go out hunting, keep an eye out. If you find any young ones, bring them back."
Yuan Lang followed behind the young female and nodded. "Mm."
’Young animals are generally hard to come by. On hunts, they mostly encountered adults; it was rare for beasts to bring their young out to forage.’
"Well, well, what a coincidence! I was just thinking about having Yue cook for me again."
The Snow Tiger Witch’s familiar voice echoed from the doorway again. Wu Yue’s face stiffened, and her good mood instantly soured. "Didn’t I make you a delicious meal this very morning?"
The witch pursed his lips. "What kind of talk is that? I ate this morning, and then I took a huge dump. You think I’m not going to take another one this afternoon?"
Wu Yue stared speechlessly at the shameless old man. "I have zero desire to know about your bowel movements."
The Snow Tiger Witch chuckled slyly and pulled a large slab of beast meat from behind his back. "Can’t be helped. One of the Half beastman Warriors had to leave on an errand this afternoon, and I was left with the most useless one.
I came over so this precious meat wouldn’t go to waste.
Pity an old man like me, who’s about to meet the Beast God, and I can’t even get a decent meal."
With that, he put on a sorrowful expression and wiped away imaginary crocodile tears.
Wu Yue glanced at the Half beastman Warrior standing behind the witch, his head hanging low. ’Don’t tell me he’s the one the witch said can’t cook!’
As if sensing Wu Yue’s gaze, the Half beastman Warrior hesitated for a moment before looking up and offering an awkward smile. "Sorry to trouble you."
’Heaven knows why food just refuses to cooperate in my hands.’
With a wretched old man added to the dinner table, the meal was a frustrating affair for the warrior, Yuan Lang.
This was especially true considering the old man had claimed one second he was about to meet the Beast God, and the next he was gulping down bowlfuls of dough-drop soup. He even polished off two fish all by himself.
’If an appetite like that sends you to the Beast God, it must be from eating until you burst.’
"Boss, didn’t you say Yue was making a delicious... meal...?"
Staring at the pots and bowls on the table, licked as clean as if by an animal, the faces of the two brothers, Teng Qian and Teng Kun, immediately puffed up into pouts.
’Wow, you guys are really something else. We spent ages with our butts in the air catching fish in the river, and we don’t even get a single taste of the broth? Do you have any shame?’
Looking at the two soaking-wet Beastman Warriors, Wu Yue glanced quizzically at Yuan Lang. "What’s going on?"
The Beastman cleared his throat with perfect composure. "Perhaps because all the tribesmen have been fishing, the Sharp-toothed Fish swim away the moment they see anyone now. They’re not that easy to catch."
Wu Yue nodded, then glanced at a certain Beastman’s dry Beast Skin Skirt. "So that’s when you put your little brothers to work?"
Yuan Lang, truly a man who had seen it all, was of course uncommonly thick-skinned. "Yup~"
Teng Qian, Teng Kun, and Wu Yue: "..."
’That "yup" was strangely hypnotic...’
To soothe the two drenched Beastmen’s wounded souls, Wu Yue personally took action once more, whipping up a large pot of dough-drop soup with minced meat.
The aroma was absolutely intoxicating. The Snow Tiger Witch and Yuan Lang, who had just been sprawled on their chairs like corpses, rose with their bowls in hand and, with perfectly straight faces, each slurped down another two bowls.
Watching her flour supply rapidly dwindling, Wu Yue gave the group an incredibly complicated look.
Her little brain instantly started churning. ’One hundred and eight ways to stop people from mooching meals.’
"Oh, tomorrow’s the last day of the trade meet. If you have anything else you need to trade, you’d better hurry up."
The Snow Tiger Witch drawled lazily, picking his teeth as he sat on a chair in the courtyard.
Wu Yue was a little surprised. "It’s ending so soon?"
Beside her, Yuan Lang thought of that brawny female who had been showing up around him so often recently, and his expression turned so foul you could almost smell it.
