Chapter 339 King Robin's Day of Imprisonment!
Chapter 339 King Robin's Day of Imprisonment!
"It's been a long time since you've been back to the Batcave, Mr. Bruce."
"Yeah, don't even mention it, I'm exhausted like a dog."
Inside the Bat Cave, Chen Tao lay sprawled in his seat, with the Bat Computer in front of him.
Behind him, Alfred placed a piece of his secret bat cake on the table in front of him, which Chen Tao grabbed and devoured in one gulp.
Alfred immediately pulled out a second piece from behind his back.
The old butler smiled; his Bruce seemed to be in a good mood, which made him feel better as well.
He paused, then said, "So, does Master Damian go back to Wayne Manor to sleep every night? To be honest, I've only met him once, and you rushed him to the Teen Titans. That's a bit too hasty. I can't accept the possibility that I might not be able to prepare breakfast for the third Wayne."
"It's just an entrance ceremony, not an attempt to take Damian away from you. Don't worry, Alfred," Chen Tao said. "With the Death King's treasure, the Golden Sphere, as the portal, you don't need to worry about Damian's daily schooling problems."
"In short, once Dick (Nightwing) finishes his night shift tonight, I'll introduce you two to each other. Anyway, it'll just be the two of you in the Batcave."
(Chen Tao forgot about Robin Tim Drake, the third generation)
"Yes, sir, you..."
After chatting with Alfred for a while, especially after discussing his retirement, Chen Tao, feeling a little guilty, opened the Bat computer and said:
"You know, Alfred, I've already booked my flight to Fiji. But the Justice League has a few important matters that I can't just hand over to Luthor; I need to consider them."
He worked on the bat computer for a while.
"Let me see... a problem that can't be solved by Luther..."
"The leopard woman in the prison has completely lost her leopard form. Is someone stealing her divine power?"
Chen Tao read the report written by the Mars Hunter for a while.
"How am I supposed to find the killer remotely? At least I could see when they were drawing the talisman. But they've already finished drawing it all. Do they really think I'm some kind of all-knowing fortune teller at the gates of Wayne Manor?"
Chen Tao casually tossed aside this seemingly important but ultimately unsolvable issue and continued reading.
"Superpower interrogated SuperQueen, Night Owl, and the Outsider again with serious questions. It was finally confirmed that they had only used members of the Supervillain Secret Society, but they were not responsible for infiltrating Leviathan. Martian Manhunter is investigating..."
Let him investigate; we'll talk about it when the results are in.
Chen Tao continued scrolling down, but this time he quickly found a large one.
Two divers in California were attacked by a group of small alien starfish while diving. The starfish corroded their diving suits and stuck them firmly to their faces.
Then the two alien starfish controlled the two divers to come ashore, attempting to control more people...
They were eventually subdued and captured by the arriving police and army. The two starfish were ripped from the faces of the two unfortunate men, who then died instantly…
The military is now asking what these two cosmic starfish are and where they came from.
This is serious. Chen Tao frowned. Having read the comics, how could he not know the famous Starro the Conqueror?
"We need to start making contingency plans for this." Chen Tao paced back and forth in the room, then ate another piece of cake that Alfred had made for him, thinking as he ate.
To be honest, the Green Lantern Corps is responsible for suppressing cosmic rulers like Starro the Conqueror, as well as those like Mongo or Lady Styx. Oa, the planet maintaining order, has always been the primary enemy of these tyrants.
and so……
"Summoning Hal directly might be surprisingly effective against Conqueror Starro," Chen Tao thought to himself as he tried to send Hal another message through the Metal Spirit, but it always went unanswered.
What the hell is going on?
Despite already having some suspicions, Chen Tao still said half-jokingly, "Could it be that Ou A Xing is already littered with corpses and on the verge of destruction?"
He turned his head, scratched his head, and said to the quiet butler, "What if I had a falling out with a friend, and he doesn't want to work for me anymore, but goes somewhere else? How can I trick him into forgiving me and getting him back to work?"
"..."
Alfred remained silent; he simply stood there with his tea, offering no comment.
"Never mind, these are things I'll have to deal with after my vacation in Fiji!"
Chen Tao said.
"We're going on a trip to Fiji to really relax. I've saved the world for so long, can't I at least enjoy myself?"
Alfred seemed delighted and steered the conversation back to Damian, then went on and on about Bruce Wayne's childhood. Despite Chen Tao repeatedly telling him that he had lost all his memories at some point, Alfred continued to recount the story with great enthusiasm.
In his eyes, the impatient attitude and cynical demeanor of the grown-up figure in front of him gradually overlapped with the little Bruce in his memory.
This delighted Alfred. Meanwhile, Chen Tao muttered to himself:
"...That's why I sent Damian to the Teen Titans for training. With Damian's personality, his mother completely turned him into a combat robot...and he's extremely rote learners. He fights exactly as others teach him. He was very obedient when I talked to him before. Children should be at their most creative age, how can this be allowed?"
He said, "To cultivate Damian's teamwork, I specifically showed him the information on the other members of the Teen Titans beforehand, but I concealed some key characteristics that could lead to his defeat. Then, before I left, I had Starfire prepare to host Damian's sparring match with the other members. If Damian follows the information I showed him exactly when he spars with his teammates, that'll be quite a show, hehehehehehehe..."
As he spoke, he opened one of the files on the Batcomputer and said, "However, the real plan prepared to target the Teen Titans was encrypted and placed in..."
"Huh??? This thing has been hacked?"
Alfred suddenly heard his lord Bruce make a strange sound, and then he heard him say, "Alfred, immediately send a message to the Titans and tell them they are under attack."
"An attack?"
Alfred was somewhat confused.
"So who attacked them?"
Chen Tao suddenly stood up: "By me!"
……
……
……
If we rewind a little, to when Damian and Chen Tao had just arrived at the Teen Titan Tower.
Xinghuo and Chen Tao, the two adults, went to the side to talk. They were discussing Damian, and occasionally they also chatted about Nightwing.
Damian stood there with his arms crossed, coldly scrutinizing the trial subjects before him. He mentally compared the information he had gathered with the living people in front of him, estimating their combat strength and how to make things quicker when the time came to actually fight.
"Hey, newbie, my name is Garfield, you can call me Beast Boy. What's your name?"
The green beast boy transformed into a little monkey. He jumped over the back of the blue beetle, trying to get a foothold on Raven's shoulder, but Raven created a small black platform to protect his shoulder, causing the green monkey to jump over in frustration.
He landed in front of Damian.
Damian.
Damian didn't even glance at him. He pulled something that looked like a small disc from his pocket and then tossed it to the ground with a thud.
The small disc emitted a soft blue light, exuding a high-tech feel. When it fell to the ground, the blue beetle scanned it with its technological armor but couldn't detect what was inside.
Blue Beetle and Beast Boy looked at each other in bewilderment.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Jaime Reyes, you can call me Blue Beetle."
Blue Beetle walked up to Damian and extended his hand to him. Damian shook his hand and then continued to concentrate on taking the small disc out of his pocket and tossing it on the ground. Soon he had tossed it all over the hall, basically landing it everywhere.
The raven didn't greet Damian; she floated in mid-air.
"What are you doing?"
Beast Boy transformed into a mouse and sniffed around the disc device that Damian had just placed down.
"Damn it, I didn't smell anything."
Blue Beetle tried to say a few more words to Damian, but the other party completely ignored him.
"Say something."
"Hey buddy, this guy's ignoring me."
"Alright, if you want to put such a weird thing in there, you'll have to talk to someone, otherwise we'll..."
"I'm setting up the things I'll need for the battle," Damian interrupted Blue Beetle.
"Isn't this a battlefield?"
Blue Beetle was speechless.
Raven, Blue Beetle, and Beast Boy looked at each other blankly, then foolishly helped Damian set up these tiny, bowl-shaped devices, which quickly filled the entire training ground.
"Do you want to use the battle arena?" As the last device was installed, the blue beetle kindly asked, "The switch is over there."
"No need to trouble yourself. Although it's not the same model, I'm familiar with this virtual combat training technology."
As Damian said this, he started up the machine in front of him.
Soon, a large number of robots surrounded Damian, and he swiftly killed off a large portion of them, using the same killing techniques taught by the Assassin's Guild.
Stab the heart, cut off the genitals, behead...
The robots he fought either lost their heads or legs, sending chills down the spines of the other Teen Titans members.
"Good heavens, this is too much..."
"Any objections?"
"You're a killer, buddy," Blue Beetle said. "Normally, we don't kill people intentionally."
"That's right, oh." The Beast Boy said with some concern, "Are you sure your mental state is okay?"
"That's because you're too weak; you've never experienced a real battle."
Clang!
Before the blue beetle could react, the armor blocked Damian's attack for him.
"What are you doing?"
"Relax, robot, I just wanted to test how fast your armor is."
The blue beetle frowned: "Don't mess with us, little guy."
The two of them walked towards each other, and then Beast Boy blocked their way:
"Hey, you two, calm down. We're a team. We need to adapt to each other; this is our home."
Damian turned to the beast boy beside him: "I heard you're a shapeshifter who took the wrong drug. What's the biggest animal you can transform into? Also, this isn't my home, this is just a school. I have a home, or are you homeless?"
The Beast Boy opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.
Blue Beetle gently rubbed his forehead.
"Good heavens, my dad actually thought I was difficult to deal with."
"Everyone needs a home, Damian," Raven couldn't help but say from the side.
"Thank you for interrupting, priestess."
The raven sighed: "You're here to discover your potential."
"You've been here long enough, witch. Do you think you've unlocked your full potential?"
"Oh my god, I can't help but want to punch him," said the blue beetle.
He couldn't take it anymore, so he reached out a hand and grabbed Damian's arm.
"Dude, you need to show some respect."
Damian glanced at him, then flicked his finger and the knife at his waist was drawn.
"I'm back."
Xinghuo walked back from the side alone, and with one hand she pressed down on the two men who were about to draw their swords, the force of her grip causing Damian's expression to change slightly:
"Batman said he had other things to do, entrusted you to me, and then left."
Then the orange-haired female alien paused.
"Hmm... It seems a bit strange since this is our first meeting, but it's Batman's request, so let's spar, everyone. Batman said a spar would be what Damian wants... and he said he can change his temper through sparring? That's Batman's exact words. Honestly, I don't quite understand..."
"Okay," Damian said.
"I have long been prepared for this trial."
"A trial?" Beast Boy tilted his head.
"It's a sparring session, not a trial. But I'm happy to kick your ass, buddy," Blue Beetle said.
"Hmm... I think Damian might be thinking something different from what we're thinking..." Raven was a little wary, and it turned out that Raven's idea was correct.
Damian took a deep breath, and then a smile began to spread across his face. Then, as if he were putting on a mask, he burst into wild laughter.
"Pfft! Hahahaha!!!"
Happy New Year, everyone!
